“Don’t do it.”

That’s what a host of departments at The Logan School for Creative Learning said, along with their national vendor of online auction software. In the face of a global pandemic, online fundraising events were netting an average of 10% of the typical raise. Conventional wisdom said to hold off or risk losing that missing 90%.

But did the Development team listen? Noooooo.

Good thing. Collaborating with their in-house team to refine the messaging strategy and run of show, we helped them create a two-night, all-Zoom, digital fundraiser and community event that didn’t just outperform lowered expectations–it beat their original goal.

Sure, most fundraisers have struggled under the pressures of COVID-19. But if the story’s right, it’s possible to find new and greater opportunities than anyone thought possible.
